Our 6th–12th grade bands will perform their spring concert on Friday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. For those who cannot attend, the concert will be livestreamed on LuvTV and CardinalVision.

We just received an update from MNDOT on an update of construction that will effect all getting to school starting tomorrow. Barck St will now not have access to Hwy 75. See attached map.

Elections for the 2026-27 LHS Student Council are coming soon! Students in grades 8-11 who are interested in being a candidate must complete a candidacy form by next Wednesday, April 8. The General Election is April 14.
Minnesota West offers training courses for moped and motorcycle rider certification. Students who are interested should check out the following link and register soon.

Congratulations to the LHS music groups on their outstanding results at the Large Group Music Contest Tuesday. The Concert Choir, Treble Choir, and Concert Band all received Superior Ratings and the Tenor-Bass Choir earned an Excellent rating. Our Treble choir received the highest overall scores of the ten choirs that participated on Tuesday. Way to go, Cardinals!
Reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences are tomorrow night, March 19, in the Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. Parents, we hope to see you there!
Our high school band and choirs will be performing tonight in their annual clinician concerts. The band concert will begin at 5:00 PM, and the choir concert will begin at 7:00 PM. Admission is free. For those who cannot attend, the concerts will be streamed on LuvTV and CardinalVision.

The annual LHS March Mayhem is next Tuesday night! The FUNdraiser event includes a 4-team student basketball tournament and the always popular Luverne School staff vs. Luverne Fire Department game. A walking taco feed begins at 6:00pm and tipoff of the first game is at 6:30pm in the Classic Gym. All proceeds benefit Luverne High School Student Council activities.
Luverne was well represented at the state BPA conference in Minneapolis this past weekend. 35 students participated in the three day event. Autumn Bailey & Hazel Sailor placed top 9 in Website Design. Congrats to all!
This is National World Languages Week and LHS is celebrating the 145 Cardinals who have chosen to study Spanish or German this year! Luverne is proud to offer four years of instruction, including Advanced Placement (AP) classes, in both languages.
Students who study a world language build communication skills, cultural awareness, and global understanding that will serve them for a lifetime. Learning another language also strengthens critical thinking, opens doors to future careers, and helps students see the world through new perspectives.
Throughout the week, students are participating in fun classroom and school-wide activities, but most importantly, we recognize their choice to take on the challenge of learning a new language when so many other options are available. That commitment deserves to be celebrated!
This summer, 24 students will take their learning beyond the classroom as they travel to Barcelona, Spain, and Munich, Germany for 10 days practicing their language skills and experiencing culture firsthand with Mrs. Swenson and Mrs. Thorson.
