Miller speaking during assembly

Caitlin Miller, a 2010 Luverne High School alumna, visited the school on September 5. She shared an inspiring story with middle and high school students and staff, reflecting on her life over the past 15 years.

Miller attended college in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she discovered a passion for rowing. She took part in several rowing trips, including a challenging journey with three other women from the coast of California to Hawaii. Along the way, they faced numerous setbacks, including a capsized boat in the middle of the night that damaged their equipment.

Despite these obstacles, they persevered and completed their journey in about a month through hard work and determination. Miller’s message to the students emphasized the importance of working hard, embracing new experiences, and never giving up.
