On Wednesday, January 7, the High School Student Council gathered for their annual mid-year retreat at Big Top Tents and Events. The day began with students sharing ideas on how to improve the school and planning for the upcoming Snow Week. The morning was dedicated to brainstorming in small groups, working together to develop plans that reflected the needs and interests of the student body.

One of the main highlights of the day was guest speaker Ron Honken. Honken inspired the council by sharing stories and providing leadership advice. He emphasized the importance of asking questions, sharing opinions, and building trust.

As the day came to a close, members participated in a cookie-decorating class as a team-building activity. Janet Marshall of Yellow Rose Cookie Shoppe led the students as they decorated three LHS- and winter-themed cookies, which they were able to take home and enjoy.
