Student Council Representatives Pose for Photo

Four LHS Student Council members and their advisor represented LHS at the Minnesota Association of Student Leaders annual convention at Owatonna High School April 11-13.

Juniors Ben Hartquist, Charlie Mostad, and Coy Thone, sophomore Hank Bork, and Advisor Mr. Berghorst spent three days receiving leadership training, sharing and learning ideas from other schools, participating in service learning, and networking with student leaders and advisors from throughout Minnesota.

Mostad and Berghorst both received awards at the event. Charlie received a Student Leadership Achievement Award for his work as the lead planner and innovator for the March Mayhem event this year. The 2026 March Mayhem fundraiser included new elements that resulted in the most participation ever at the event.

Mr. Berghorst was named the Student Council Advisor of the Year for the Southwest Division.  Berghorst's contributions to building a positive school culture, developing local, regional and statewide student leaders, and coordinating student council opportunities for schools in southwestern Minnesota were noted at the awards presentation.

Congratulations to Charlie Mostad, Mr. Berghorst, and all of the LHS leaders who represented our school and community at the state event.
