On Friday, September 11, students at Luverne High School and Middle School attended a presentation by magician Travis Nye. Nye entertained students with magic tricks while also sharing an important message about following your passions and not worrying about others’ opinions.

Nye explained that his inspiration for magic came when he first saw a magician perform on TV. He then decided to learn magic for himself. Through years of practice and hard work, Nye turned his interest in magic into a career.

When asked what his favorite part about performing is, Nye replied, “I enjoy getting to share my story but also hear other people’s stories.” His presentation showed students that it is important to do what you love and believe in yourself. Nye also explained that magic is not simply about fooling people. “Magic isn’t about fooling, it’s about entertaining,” he said.

Throughout the presentation, Nye invited students on stage to be involved in his tricks, adding an interactive element to the experience.
